About Us

Mr. Murrell is the C.E.O and founder of the company. After coming from humble beginnings as a Security Guard at Brinks Mr. Murrell landed a job at Intel Barbados Ltd as a messenger.  Due to his diligence and hardworking nature he was promoted to Traffic Specialist where he developed his knowledge and skills in Customs Procedures and Logistics.  Mr. Murrell also developed a deep love and passion for this work and when Intel Barbados Ltd moved their operations out of Barbados in 1986 he started Big P that same year with his wife Mrs. Grace Murrell.

Big P from then to now has developed a high profile of clients, weathered harsh economic climates to become one of Barbados’ leading brokerage houses; a legacy he has now passed on to his children.

Mrs. Murrell has been by her husband’s side since they were both teenagers in 1971.  Mrs. Murrell after leaving Chefette in 1982 to raise her two boys, she and Mr. Murrell got married in August of 1984 and closely following that she formed Big P with her husband where she worked as the General Manager.  Mrs. Murrell worked from 1986 to her retirement in 2019 and during those years she managed to balance work life, marriage and raising her four children.  Even in retirement she still lends her support in the continued development of the company.

Mr. Duwayne Murrell is the second oldest of Mr. & Mrs. Murrell’s children together.  He started working at Big P in 2005 as a clerk.  Duwayne’s introduction was fundamental into the carrying on of the company as the industry was moving into the technological era which meant that the company would need a younger successor to bridge the gap and transition the company from the older generation into the new.  Duwayne in his over 15 years working side by side with his father has garnered great knowledge of customs procedures and is noted for his expertise and knowledge of the Customs ASYCUDA World system.  With these skills he rose to the reigns of Managing Director in 2021 when his father Mr. Murrell retired to carry on the Big P brand.

Ms. Natalie Murrell is the last of the Murrell bunch, she started her journey working with the company officially in 2016 as Secretary and moved on up the ladder to General Manager in 2021.  In her time at Big P she developed her portfolio of skills to include ASYCUDA World training, Customs procedures, QuickBooks and Management which awarded her position in the company.  With this skillset Natalie specializes in exporting of goods internationally and regionally, oversees the company’s finances and manages staff and customer relations.

Ms Nicole Murrell is the third child of the Murrell siblings, Nicole joined the company in 2018 as messenger and propelled to the Operations manager in 2021.  Nicole’s prior work experience in operations and her knowledge of the road, customs procedures and ASYCUDA World training has allowed her to succeed in her post as Operations Manager as she is instrumental in processing imports, coordinating shipments and managing customer relations to ensure that Big P continues to maintain its fast and reliable service which our customers enjoy.

Mr. Skeete is Big P’s oldest employee, he has been with the company since the early 90’s and is responsible for the clearance and exporting of all less than a container load (LCL) and full container load (FCL) shipments from the Bridgetown Port and Warehouses such as; Tropical Shipping, Eric Hassell Shipping, Freight Handling Services etc.  Mr. Skeete is also responsible for the clearance of cargo for Returning Nationals.

Mr. Lashley is the eldest son of the Murrell clan and was one of the first to work in the company.  He started out as our main courier hauling cargo from both air and sea ports in the 90’s.  Though he left to pursue his own business De FX Bar he returned in 2021 to continue the legacy of Big P as Mr. Murrell’s retirement meant all hands on deck.  Andre is now responsible for the clearance and delivery of cargo from the airport along with performing messenger services.

Mr. Drakes has been with the company for over 20 years and is responsible for the clearance and delivery of cargo from both air and sea ports, warehouses and sheds. Sheldon was with our team from the time he left secondary school and has been a hardworking employee who is loved by many of our clients for his reliability.
